Mid-level Beginner to Low Intermediate

  • Develop an "ear" for English. Begin to build more consistent listening comprehension. Soon you can stop asking people to repeat themselves so much!
  • Learn common phrases and vocabulary so that you can express yourself on a wider range of topics.
  • Work on your pronunciation as you rewind the tape or CD and imitate the native speakers.
  • Build more self confidence as you speak English better!

Intermediate
  • Refine your "ear" for English. Begin to understand a much higher percentage of spoken English. This will be of particular benefit if you speak English regularly on the phone.
  • Commit fewer grammatical errors by listening to the language usage of native speakers.
  • Develop your vocabulary to allow you to go deeper into conversations and subjects. Begin to make idioms a regular part of your conversation.
  • Expand your cultural awareness.
  • Be able to add "small talk" to your business conversations by learning the vocabulary and phrases related to current events, including politics, business, and sports.
  • Show your employer (or yourself!) that your language skills are not an obstacle to developing meaningful relationships with English-speaking partners.

High Intermediate to Advanced
  • Speak with a more precise vocabulary about current events, business, the arts and other subjects.
  • Increase your usage of idioms and typical conversational "fillers." Learn a few jokes!
  • Enjoy insights into alluring travel destinations, famous people, and recent books and movies.
  • Improve your cultural fluency in business and personal contexts.
  • Keep your "ear" fresh by frequently listening to dialogues on a wide variety of subjects performed by speakers with different [regional] accents.
  • Speak with more confidence in professional and personal settings.
